Zack von Zermatt is a beautiful 2 year old German Shepherd. He has a beautiful soft coat and is a good weight. Our guess is he is around 65 to 70 pounds; he is a medium sized German Shepherd. He looks like a classic purebred to us but he has spots on his tongue. The German imports have some, but he has more than usual, so one of his distant relatives might have had a rendezvous with a different breed. He is quiet and reserved, but loyal. Some of the volunteers were walking together with dogs, Zack was ahead with one volunteer, all of a sudden he stops and waits for everyone else to catch up. We always get a kick out of how German Shepherds are looking out for their pack. Zack is great on the leash, walks by your side. Only slightly interested in treats, but takes them gently, everything about him is gentle. We feel Zack would be happy in a quiet home, he would love hikes and any activity. He is good with other dogs and had a good first cat test!
